Barcelona and Valencia to meet in Copa del Rey semis, Celta face Sevilla

Gary Neville's Valencia side have been drawn to face Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semifinals, with the winners to face Celta Vigo or Sevilla in the final.

The two-legged affairs are to be played over the next few weeks, with Valencia at the Camp Nou on Feb. 3 and the return game at the Mestalla seven days later.

Valencia have not won any of Neville's first seven La Liga games in charge, but he has guided the club through to the last four of the Copa del Rey for the first time since 2012 after knocking out Barakaldo, Granada and Las Palmas.

"It will be difficult," Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta said.

Reacting to the draw, Valencia vice-captain Javi Fuego said that having the second leg in front of their own fans could be an advantage for Los Che, although he also admitted Barca were the toughest of the three possible opponents.

"[Barcelona] are the most in-form team at the moment," Fuego is quoted as saying by Superdeportes. "I am not going to discover who Barcelona are now. We are very excited about this competition. The return game at Mestalla could be good for us."

Copa del Rey holders Barca have reached this stage of the competition in nine of the last 10 seasons, and qualified this time around by beating Athletic Bilbao 4-2 on aggregate in the quarterfinals.

Celta Vigo, who have never won a major trophy in their 92-year history, eliminated Atletico Madrid in the quarterfinals and are in their first semifinal in 15 years.

The Galicians face 2007 and 2010 winners Sevilla, who saw off second-tier club Mirandes to reach this stage.

"We know that we will be playing against a good team, they just defeated Atletico at their stadium, which is not something that is easy to do,'' Sevilla captain Coke said. "It's an opponent that already beat us at home and it's having a great season."

The 2016 Copa del Rey final has been set for May 21, with the venue to be decided once the two finalists have been confirmed.
