Pepe Reina has withdrawn from the Spain squad due to injury, with Kepa Arrizabalaga having been called up in his place. Napoli goalkeeper Reina missed Spain's training session on Tuesday with the unspecified problem and underwent tests on it later in the day. Spain boss Julen Lopetegui, as a result, has opted to promote the uncapped Arrizabalaga of Athletic Bilbao from the under-21s. "Jose Manuel Reina will leave the national team camp after his physical condition did not improve as had been hoped," a statement on Spain's official website read. "It will be Kepa Arrizabalaga, who trained with the team throughout Wednesday, who will be the one to occupy Pepe Reina's position." Spain take on Israel in a World Cup qualifier on Friday before facing France in a friendly on March 28.
