Pirates sign Nyatama from Celtic

Orlando Pirates have confirmed the signing of Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder Musa Nyatama, subject to a medical.

The 29-year-old will add some steel to the Pirates midfielder, having spent the last four seasons at Celtic.

"Orlando Pirates Football Club is delighted to announce that it has reached an agreement with Bloemfontein Celtic for the services of Musa Nyatama,' Pirates said in a statement.

"The club would like to thank Mr Max Tshabalala, Chairman of Bloemfontein Celtic, for the professional manner he conducted the negotiations.

"Nyatama, who hails from Benoni, is set to arrive in Johannesburg tomorrow together with his agent to undergo a medical."

Nyatama was developed though BidVest Wits, but made his name at Thanda Royal Zulu, before  signing for Maritzburg United in 2009.

After two seasons at the club, he was snapped up by Mamelodi Sundowns, but never quite managed to nail down a first team spot at Chloorkop.

He made a single appearance for Bafana Bafana in an African Nations Cup qualifier against Mauritius in 2015.
