Arsene Wenger not interested in Petr Cech from Chelsea to Arsenal talk

LONDON - Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has sidestepped questions over a possible move to sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech.

Arsenal have been linked with making a move for Cech, who is expected to leave Chelsea this summer having lost his place in the starting XI to Thibaut Courtois.

And on Friday, Cech's agent claimed he has been granted permission by Chelsea to speak with clubs interested in the shot-stopper.

David Opsina and Wojciech Szczesny have been battling it out for a starting spot at Arsenal this season, and Wenger has stressed he already has top quality keepers in his squad.

"That's a tricky question because we are not interested in anybody at the moment," Wenger said when he was asked about Cech.

"We will start with transfers at the end of the season and I don't deal with the 'if' [players are available]. We have world-class goalkeepers, we have three."

Wenger also revealed that he may face a fight with Manchester United to land his top transfer targets this summer, with the Old Trafford club active in the market as they look to add to their first signing of Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven.

"It looks to me that they are on the market because every player I am offered, I'm told Man United is on the case as well," Wenger added.

"They are very active. You expect them to come back with some strong buys and they already have a strong squad. If you look at their squad already, it is top quality."

Arsenal will look to wrap up a top-three finish in the Premier League when they take on United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
