Sporting Kansas City added to its defense Friday, acquiring Premier League veteran Winston Reid on loan from West Ham.
Reid, 31, has played 223 games with West Ham since 2010, with all but one of those seasons played at England's highest level. The club was relegated in 2011-12 before making its return the following season.
A native of New Zealand, Reid scored six goals with West Ham and had two assists over his nine seasons with the club, which finished as high as seventh in the Premier League in 2015-16.
