Derby sign Chelsea's Mason Mount and Liverpool's Harry Wilson on loan

Derby County have completed the signings of Chelsea's Mason Mount and Liverpool's Harry Wilson on season-long loan deals.

Mount, 19, is regarded as one of Chelsea's most promising midfield talents, and he will link up with manager Frank Lampard and assistant Jody Morris, who coached Mount in the Chelsea academy.

Mount spent last season on loan at Vitesse Arnheim, where he had 14 goals and 9 assists in 32 Eredivisie appearances and was named the club's Player of the Year.

Chelsea and England have high hopes for Mount, who won the UEFA European Under-19 Championship in 2017 and was invited by Gareth Southgate to train with the senior squad prior to the World Cup.

Of his aims at Derby, Mount told the Chelsea website he is looking for games, first and foremost.

"I need to continue playing games, getting as many minutes as I can, especially after the season I had," he said.

"I need to keep improving and that is by being on the pitch, that is the main thing."

Wilson, 21, is a skillful winger who was highly regarded at Anfield and was recently handed a new long-term deal at the club as reward for his continued progress.

The Wales international had been chased by a host of clubs this summer -- including Aston Villa and Stoke City -- but was unlikely to break into Jurgen Klopp's first team next season despite scoring seven goals in 13 appearances for Hull City last season.

However, Lampard has big plans for him at Derby, telling the club's website: "Harry brings incredible quality and hunger to the table here and he showed that last year while he was on loan at Hull.

"He's a full international too and he has a real desire to come here and improve. He's going to be a crucial player for us. I keep talking about creativity and the importance of trying to excite the fans and he's the sort of player that can do that with the quality that he has.

"For himself too, to have a year at this level and feel an important player at an important club, that will be important.

"Hopefully it's a great platform for him; but on a selfish note, we have got ourselves a real quality player."
