Manchester United won't let Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian go cheaply - sources

Manchester United are listening to offers for Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian but will not let them leave on the cheap, sources have told ESPN FC.

Blind and Darmian are considering their options after a season during which they made only nine Premier League starts between them.

Roma, Inter Milan and Ajax have registered an interest in Blind, while Serie A clubs including Juventus and Napoli are monitoring Darmian.

Blind has a year left on his contract after United triggered their extension option last season, while Darmian has a deal until 2019 with the option of a further 12 months.

That has put United in a strong negotiating position, with sources saying executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is hopeful of recouping a portion of the fees spent to bring the defenders to Old Trafford.

Blind arrived in a £13.8 million deal from Ajax in 2014, while Darmian followed in a £12.7m move from Torino a year later.

Sources have told ESPN FC that United have held talks with Juventus about Darmian but the Italian champions have so far failed to meet their valuation.

Should they stay, Blind and Darmian are likely to find their first-team chances restricted even further after Jose Mourinho signed Portuguese youngster Diogo Dalot, who can play at right-back and left-back, from Porto for £19m.

Blind, Darmian and Dalot are expected back at Carrington on Monday for the start of preseason training.

Dalot is nursing a knee injury he suffered last season, but sources have told ESPN FC that he should be fit to travel with the rest of the squad when they depart for their tour of the United States on July 15.

Meanwhile, Woodward has negotiated a £6.5m fee -- which could rise to £10m with add-ons -- to sell goalkeeper Sam Johnstone to West Brom.

Johnstone impressed on loan at Aston Villa last season but has never made a first-team appearance for United and only has one year left on his contract.

Sources have told ESPN FC that Matty Willock is set to leave United on loan ahead of the new season.

The 21-year-old had spells at FC Utrecht and St Johnstone last season and is attracting interest from clubs in England and Scotland.
