Nabil Fekir transfer from Lyon to Liverpool is not dead - agent

Nabil Fekir's agent has told French TV the Lyon midfielder's transfer to Liverpool "is not finished."

Earlier this month, a Liverpool source told ESPN FC the club were confident of sealing a €60 million deal for the France midfielder, one of Lyon's standout performers as they finished third in Ligue 1.

However, Lyon then ended talks with the Champions League runners-up and released a statement saying they were "overjoyed that they can count on the presence of their captain, who will be a significant part of their 2018-19 season."

But agent Jean-Pierre Bernes said Fekir, on World Cup duty with France, could still end up at Anfield.

"Why hasn't he signed? Because it is not finished. The story is not finished," Bernes said.

Fekir came on for the final 20 minutes as France beat Australia in their World Cup opener.

"I am with the France national team. I am fine. I am happy. I am not here to speak about my personal situation -- we will see for that later," he said.

"I am happy for Thomas [Lemar, who has joined Atletico Madrid] and Antoine [Griezmann, who is staying with Atleti], but everybody is in a different situation.

"I did not speak about my future with [Lyon president] Jean-Michel [Aulas], who was in Astra, but it was nice to see him. Regarding my knee, everything is fine."

Information from ESPN FC's Jonathan Johnson was used in this report.
