Iceland international Gylfi Sigurdsson has completed his transfer to Everton from Swansea City, signing a five-year contract and moving for a club-record fee. Sigurdsson, 27, joins for a fee reported to be worth up to £45 million, although sources have told ESPN FC that the midfielder's former club Tottenham Hotspur are due to receive 10 percent of the total. "Hopefully I will continue to create goals and score goals for the team and contribute to the kind of success we're seeking at the club," Sigurdsson told Everton's official website. "This is an ambitious club and it is clear we are moving in a really good direction. The most important thing is that this team keeps winning games and climbing the table -- and does that throughout the season. "For myself, I would like to score as many goals as possible and create as many goals for my teammates as I can. These are my targets. But it is always the same thing: as long as the team is winning I will be more than happy." Everton boss Ronald Koeman confirmed at his news conference on Wednesday afternoon that Sigurdsson had successfully passed his medical after the clubs finally came to an agreement over the fee. "We worked a long time to get this deal in," Koeman said. "He was one of the key players to bring in. We need players who will bring productivity to the team. "We lost Romelu Lukaku and we lost 25 goals -- we need more players than one to get that number of goals. He is that type of player with that productivity. "He knows the Premier League, he had a good season at Swansea, and in his position he is one of the best in the Premier League." Sigurdsson added that the opportunity to work with Koeman was something that attracted him. "He was a great player, one of the top players of his time," Sigurdsson added. "Now he is a really good manager and his vision for Everton is clear. He has built up a really good squad here, with strong players, both young and experienced. "This was a key factor for me. Ultimately, that is a dream of mine and everyone at this club. I know the supporters and players would agree with that." Koeman has previously brought in Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen, Cuco Martina, Jordan Pickford, Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney this summer as Everton look to improve on last season's seventh-placed finish.
