Gerard Deulofeu's future 'up to Everton and Barcelona to determine' - agent

Gerard Deulofeu's agent says it is "extremely difficult" for him to be an AC Milan player again next season.

Deulofeu, 23, spent the second half of last season on loan with Milan from Everton, scoring four goals in 17 Serie A appearances, but is unlikely to return with Barcelona able to exercise an option to buy the Spain under-21 international back from Everton.

The Rossoneri are monitoring the situation for an indication that they could still sign him permanently, but the player's agent, Gines Carvajal, says that looks unlikely.

"The decision is not mine -- it's up to Everton and Barcelona to determine the player's future," he told TuttoMercatoWeb. "I really don't know, we've just got to wait."

When pressed on whether Milan are out of the running, Carvajal added: "I would say so, yes. It's an extremely difficult option."

Milan have already spent almost €100 million in the transfer market this summer, signing Mateo Musacchio, Franck Kessie, Ricardo Rodriguez and Andre Silva. Funds are still available for Vincenzo Montella to strengthen his squad further, although Deulofeu is not considered a priority.

The Rossoneri are currently being linked with moves for Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia and Fiorentina forward Nikola Kalinic, while Atalanta full-back Andrea Conti has already stated his desire to move to Milan.
