Hirving Lozano delighted after drawn-out PSV Eindhoven move completed

SOCHI, Russia -- Mexico international Hirving Lozano has said he is delighted to have signed for PSV Eindhoven from Pachuca and is ready to focus on the national team after a protracted transfer saga.

Lozano had flown from Kazan to the Netherlands after Mexico's 2-2 Confederations Cup draw with Portugal on Sunday to sign the deal.

He joined his Mexico teammates at the team hotel in Sochi on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday's Group A match against New Zealand.

"It's a beautiful stage of my life," the 21-year-old said. "I'll enjoy it, but right now I'll concentrate on the national team and giving my all."

Lozano said he was "100 percent behind" coach Juan Carlos Osorio's decision as to whether he plays or not, but said he was ready if required.

Osorio suggested on Monday that the transfer saga had affected Lozano when asked whether the winger should be allowed to leave the team camp during a major tournament.

"In previous games it's been a distraction," Osorio said.

Pachuca president Jesus Martinez announced details of the transfer on ESPN's "Los Capitanes" programme, saying two other clubs had offered more than PSV but that the Tuzos respected Lozano's right to choose his destination in Europe.

"We were in negotiations for over a year," Martinez said. "We were postponing the transfer until we couldn't any more, because I'd given my word to the player that I'd sell him at this stage [of his career]."

Martinez also hinted that midfielder Erick Gutierrez could be the next player to move from Pachuca to Europe, following Hector Herrera, Enner Valencia and Lozano.
