Mexico defender Carlos Salcedo has completed a move to Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt on an initial loan with an option to buy. The German side announced the move for the 23-year-old on Tuesday, in between his appearances for Mexico in Sunday's World Cup qualifier and the Confederations Cup in Russia. Salcedo joined Chivas Guadalajara in January 2015 and spent a year and a half with the Mexican giants before playing last year on loan with Fiorentina in Italy. He made his professional debut with Real Salt Lake in 2013, spending two seasons in Major League Soccer. "We observed Carlos over a long period, he left a very good impression," Eintracht sporting director Fredi Bobic said in a statement. "We're getting a centre-back that does not shy away from any tackle. He's a real Mexican warrior." Salcedo, known as El Titan in his native country, has become a regular for the Mexico national team after coming on as an early substitute in a World Cup qualifying win against the United States last November. Coach Juan Carlos Osorio started him in both qualifiers in March against Costa Rica and Trinidad and Tobago, then called on him again last week to face Honduras and -- after overcoming an injury -- the U.S. He will now play for El Tri in Russia for the FIFA Confederations Cup before joining up with his new club. Earlier on Tuesday, his Mexico teammate Hector Moreno completed a move to Roma from PSV Eindhoven.
