Franck Ribery says he could move to MLS after Bayern Munich stay ends

Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery has told kicker that he could follow in the footsteps of Bastian Schweinsteiger and move to Major League Soccer, saying he would also consider China, Dubai or Qatar.

Ribery, 33, arrived at Bayern from Marseille in 2007 and last year extended his contract until the summer of 2018.

"I have always said that Bayern is my last club in Europe," he said.

"But it's always possible you have to make way for others as a 34 or 35-year-old -- that's football.

"Then China, Dubai, Qatar or the U.S. are options. Why not, if I want to play football?"

Ribery has won the Champions League, six Bundesliga titles, five German cups, the FIFA Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup during his career in Bavaria.

He joked: "Damn, I'm old," before describing his long and successful career as "amazing."

"I think I can be a role model to the younger players," he added. "I'm 33, soon to be 34, but they can see how professionally I continue to work.

"It's important they see I still have the hunger despite all my success. That's a vital message."

Ribery will become Bayern's longest-serving player when Philipp Lahm retires at the end of the season.

Xabi Alonso is also retiring, and Ribery said: "I can only congratulate them on their outstanding careers. They're top players with a great personality."
