Ighalo reluctant to move to China amid interest from Prem Lge club - sources

Watford striker Odion Ighalo is reluctant to move to Chinese club Changchun Yatai with an unnamed Premier League club keen on signing him, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Watford have received an offer from Chinese Super League outfit Changchun Yatai for Ighalo and they are keen to sell the Nigerian forward for a mooted £20 million.

However, Ighalo has his reservations over moving to the Chinese club as they are not one of the strongest sides in the country's top flight.

The sources said that the unnamed Premier League club have expressed an interest in signing Ighalo on loan with a view to a permanent deal at the end of the season.

Ighalo enjoyed a superb debut in the Premier League last term, scoring 17 goals, but he has struggled to replicate that this season with just two goals to his name.

Watford are happy to cash in on Ighalo having brought in Mauro Zarate from Fiorentina on a permanent deal and M'Baye Niang on loan from AC Milan, but Ighalo is having second thoughts on a move to China as he would prefer to stay in England's top flight.

It remains to be seen if Watford would be willing to loan Ighalo out to a league rival before the close of the transfer window as they would prefer the money on offer from China for the 27-year-old.
