West Ham ahead of Burnley, Boro in bid for Robert Snodgrass - sources

West Ham United and Middlesbrough have joined Burnley in agreeing fees for Hull City midfielder Robert Snodgrass with the Hammers emerging as favourites for the Scotland international, sources close to the player have told ESPN FC.

Burnley were the first club to agree a fee in the region of £10 million for the 29-year-old and that forced West Ham and Middlesbrough to match the offer in pursuit of the former Leeds man.

Sources close to the player have told ESPN FC that Snodgrass' preferred choice is to move to West Ham as long as he can agree personal terms and pass a medical, but he is now expected to hold talks with all interested parties with the player free to decide where he wants to go

However, any move to West Ham depends on the club selling Dimitri Payet before next Tuesday's deadline so that they have funds to secure the signing of Snodgrass.

Hull triggered a one-year extension in Snodgrass' deal in December, meaning he is under contract until the summer of 2018, but they have reluctantly agreed to sanction his sale before the close of the transfer window as they plan to use the funds from his departure to strengthen the squad elsewhere.
