Eden Hazard tells Antonio Conte he wants to stay at Chelsea - source

Eden Hazard has indicated to incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte that he plans to stay at the club next season, a source close to the player told ESPN FC.

The Times earlier reported that Hazard was satisfied at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard's future has been the subject of constant speculation with the midfielder struggling badly for form this season in the Blues' disastrous Premier League title defence.

The Belgium international has failed to hit the heights of last term, when he won both the PFA and FWA Footballer of the Year awards, having still yet to score in the league this season.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have both been credited with an interest in Hazard, but he has four years left on his current contract and played down links with the Spanish side earlier this month.

Conte spoke to several Chelsea players during his visit to the club's training ground after the confirmation of his appointment earlier this month, and in his meeting with Hazard the Italian said that he wants him to stay at Stamford Bridge.

The source close to Hazard told ESPN FC that the 25-year-old was happy with the outcome of the meeting with Conte and affirmed to the new Chelsea boss that he has no plans to leave the club, wanting to regain his best form to help them get back to challenging for honours.

News of Hazard's desire to stay at Chelsea should come as a welcome boost to Conte as he embarks on a major squad overhaul this summer to try and transform Chelsea's fortunes.
