Leicester target Eder attracting interest from Inter Milan - Sampdoria

Leicester City face competition from Inter Milan for the signing of Sampdoria forward Eder, with the Genovese club's director of sport Carlo Osti confirming the Nerazzurri are interested.

Samp are reported to have already turned down an offer from Leicester for Eder, 29, as they wait for an improved bid and competition for his signature which could push up the price.

However, a move from Inter for the Italy international -- and for his club teammate Roberto Soriano -- could depend on whether they are able to offload Fredy Guarin first.

"Inter want [Roberto] Soriano and Eder, but first they need to understand what is going to happen with Guarin," Osti is quoted as saying by Mediaset.

Inter may have an advantage over Leicester in that Samp are keen on their defender Andrea Ranocchia, who could be offered at a reduced price to tempt the Blucerchiati to accept their offer for Eder.

"We are hoping to finalise a deal for Ranocchia after their Coppa Italia match [against Juventus] on Wednesday," Osti added.

Eder has scored 12 of Sampdoria's 31 goals in Serie A this season -- already an improvement on the nine he netted last term when he earned his first caps for Italy. He has scored two goals in eight appearances for the Azzurri.

Guarin's move to Shanghai Shenhua, who are currently training in Malaga, is set to go through on Tuesday, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, which could hasten Inter's swoop for Eder.
