Alan Pulido made a last-ditch effort to remain in the Greek Super League this week, but reports say his future is nearly sealed with Major League Soccer's Colorado Rapids.

Pulido scored a goal and had an assist in Olympiakos' 6-0 Greek Cup win over Chania on Wednesday and he graced the covers of the Greek sports pages. He reminded his fans via social media that "after the storm comes the calm" and told Greek media that he doesn't honestly know where his future lies.

Mi primer gol del año ⚽️. Porque siempre después de la tormenta viene la calma y NUNCA dejes que nadie te diga que no puedes #humildad #actitud #fuerza #trabajo #fé #condiostodoesposible #feliz My first gol of the year ⚽️ Because always after the hurricane come the quiet and NEVER let that anybody say to you that you can't #humility #attitude #power #work #faith #withgodallthingsarepossible #happy

The tempest that is Pulido's immediate future, however, has not been resolved, as he makes a last-ditch effort to stay in Greece while El Record and other Mexico media report that he will go on a one-year loan to the Rapids.

Rapids general manager Paul Bravo was in Greece last week to wrap up the deal, sources confirmed. Pulido has given his blessing to the move with final negotiations between player and club set to take place in the U.S. But there are issues regarding the status of Pulido's International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Pulido's former club, Liga MX side Tigres UANL, has repeatedly said the player signed a two-year contract with them in 2014. Pulido insists that isn't the case, and that he is a free agent, with FIFA and the Court for Arbitration of Sport getting involved.

Pulido, who was named Man of the Match after Wednesday's victory, said he was happy to be able to help the team, but added that he doesn't know whether he will stay on with the Greek club.

"What I can guarantee you is that I will play with all my heart for all of my matches," said the 24-year-old. "The truth is that I want to enjoy the evening and later on we will see what happens. I want to play each match as though it were my last one and make all the sacrifices necessary for the team. I am very happy with this match, the assist and the goal, but most importantly for the victory."

Pulido was sidelined for several months while the status of his ITC was adjudicated, and the CAS has twice ruled against him. But the Mexico international was ultimately given a provisional ITC by FIFA in February 2015 that allowed him to move to Greek side Levadiakos.

After scoring once in six appearances, Pulido was sold to Greek giants Olympiakos in the summer. In the interim, Liga MX side Chivas purchased 50 percent of the player's rights from Tigres in the hope that the CAS would ultimately rule in Tigres' favor, but again Pulido opted to play in Europe.
