Borussia Dortmund won't sell Ilkay Gundogan, says Juve's Marotta

Juventus general manager Beppe Marotta said Wednesday that he doubts Borussia Dortmund would consider selling Ilkay Gundogan, despite reports in Italian media linking the midfielder to the Serie A side.

Reports in recent weeks have suggested that the Bianconeri are willing to offer up to €30m to get the German international.

"Gundogan? Why would we think about him when we have [Claudio] Marchisio?" Marotta told Premium Sport. "At that position we have diverse solutions. That is not a Turkish name we have brought up, but if we did, Borussia Dortmund are not thinking about giving him up."

Four-time defending champion Juventus comfortably swept aside last-place Hellas Verona 3-0 for their eighth straight win in Serie A on Wednesday.

"It's too early to know what the market will be in June," Marotta said.

Marotta said last month that there was no need to do anything "sensational" in the January transfer window, suggesting that Massimiliano Allegri's squad is already strong enough.

"It's normal for so many players to be linked with us, but I feel I can exclude every one of them. We do have our eyes open, but let's not disrespect the players we already have," Marotta said.
