Anders Lindegaard signs for West Brom from Manchester United

Anders Lindegaard has been given opportunities in the Premier League this season
Anders Lindegaard played 29 times for Manchester United.

West Brom have announced the signing of goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard from Manchester United on a two-year deal.

Lindegaard, 31, underwent a medical at West Brom on Monday before completing his exit from Old Trafford.

The Denmark international joined United from Aalesund in 2010 but struggled for regular first-team football, making 19 Premier League appearances.

Lindegaard said on his new club's official website: "Since moving to England I've been impressed with how well West Brom have done in the Premier League.

"I had a good chat with Tony Pulis -- I must call him the 'gaffer' now - and he convinced me it would be a good move for me and the club.

"From there things moved very quickly. I was very keen to get it done so I can just concentrate on the thing that matters most, the football.

"I am very happy to join and hope I can make a big contribution this season."

Lindegaard was joined by Javier Hernandez and Adnan Januzaj in leaving United on Monday, as they completed moves to Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund respectively.

The 31-year-old, who cost £3.5 million when he joined from Aalesund in 2011, played 29 games for United and briefly displaced David De Gea as first-choice goalkeeper.

But he never made a competitive appearance under Louis van Gaal and slipped below youngster Sam Johnstone in the pecking order this season.

Lindegaard becomes the third United player to join Albion in 2015, after Darren Fletcher and Jonny Evans.
