Petr Jiracek moves to Sparta Prague from Hamburg

PRAGUE -- Sparta Prague say Czech midfielder Petr Jiracek has agreed to move to the club from Hamburg.

Sparta, who play in the top tier of the Czech league, said on Tuesday that Jiracek has signed a four-year contract.

Jiracek joined Hamburg in August 2012 from Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg, also on a four-year contract. The club agreed his early departure after he failed this season to get a spot in the squad.

The 29-year-old Jiracek played 28 games for the Czech Republic. But his last game was a year ago and he lost his place in the national squad after failing to make the starting lineup at Hamburg.
