Man United have not been in contact - Ajax goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen

Ajax goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has declared that he will stay at the club for the 2015-16 season, after being linked with a move to Manchester United.

Cillessen, 26, who was Louis van Gaal's first choice as Netherlands finished third in the 2014 World Cup, had been tipped to move to Old Trafford as a replacement for David De Gea.

But the goalkeeper insisted he has had no contact with United and is convinced he will spend the year in Amsterdam.

"As far as I know it has never been an item," he told NOS. "I, the club, or my agent have never heard anything. As for me, this season begins and ends at Ajax."

Manager Frank de Boer was less strident, insisting that although he believes he will keep Cillessen, he cannot be certain yet. Though he warned United that Cillessen's price will go up and up in the last week of the transfer window.

He said: "I expect him to stay, though anything can happen in the final phase of the transfer period. But Jasper is now only more and more expensive."

United, who are determined to command a world-record fee of over £32.6 million for a goalkeeper -- which Juventus paid for Gianluigi Buffon in 2001 -- if they are to sell De Gea, have yet to receive an offer from Real for the Spaniard.

Van Gaal has said he will not pick the 24-year-old while the transfer window remains open because of concerns about his state of mind, with the goalkeeper looking likelier to stay at Old Trafford for the final year of his contract.
