U.S. international Tim Ream targeted by Queens Park Rangers - sources

Queens Park Rangers have made a bid for Bolton's U.S. international defender Tim Ream, sources have told ESPN FC.

QPR boss Chris Ramsey is in the market for defensive reinforcements after seeing Rio Ferdinand and Richard Dunne leave the club this summer and Steven Caulker join Southampton on loan.

Centre-back Ream has caught the eye of a number of clubs after impressing for the last couple of seasons for Bolton in the Championship.

Ream has been named as Bolton's Player of the Year for the last two campaigns and he was rewarded with a new three-year deal at the club last summer.

The 27-year-old has made over 125 appearances for Bolton since joining the club from Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls in January 2012.

Ream was a member of the U.S. squad for this summer's Gold Cup and the defender impressed in the 1-0 win over Haiti.

Bolton are keen to keep hold of Ream but with, finances tight at the Macron Stadium, QPR have made a £1 million bid for the defender as they look to test Bolton's resolve to keep hold of the Missouri-born player.
