Stevan Jovetic set to join Inter Milan from Man City, medical on Tuesday

Manchester City striker Stevan Jovetic is set to join Inter Milan after the Serie A side announced he will have a medical in Italy on Tuesday.

Jovetic, 25 has struggled to gain a first-team role in the Premier League, and had been heavily linked with a move to Inter in recent days.

A post on Inter's official Twitter account on Sunday read: "@stevanj35 [Jovetic] will arrive in Milan tomorrow before undergoing a medical on Tuesday."

Former City manager Roberto Mancini confirmed earlier this week he was interested in bringing Jovetic to Inter this summer, and believes the Montenegro international would benefit the Nerazzurri.

"We really need an attacker because we only have two players up front at the moment," Mancini told Corriere dello Sport.

"I already tried to sign Jovetic in my last season with Manchester City, but he arrived when I was gone. He can play as a focal point or as a support striker but could also feature on the wings."

Jovetic has started only 11 Premier League games in two injury-hit seasons at City and his future has been in doubt since he was omitted from their Champions League squad for the second half of the season, a decision he said "killed" him.

He has not started a game since the shock FA Cup home defeat to Middlesbrough in January.

Former City manager Mancini has tried to sign several of his old players, and had hoped to bring Yaya Toure and James Milner to the San Siro.

Meanwhile, another City forward is set to leave for Italy this summer with sources telling ESPN FC that Roma are preparing a €20 million bid for Edin Dzeko.
