Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey has said star striker Charlie Austin is likely to leave the club this summer.

Austin, who scored 18 Premier League goals last season despite Rangers' relegation, has been linked with Newcastle, Leicester and Crystal Palace, with the club valuing the 26-year-old at £15 million.

Ramsey told talkSPORT: "We have to be realistic -- it's unlikely he'll stay. We want to keep him, but it's unlikely.

"The club is in a financial position that it needs to recoup some money, and I think for his ambitions he wants to keep playing in the Premier League to go to the Euros [Euro 2016 in France].

"We've been offered £12 million and turned it down, so we're looking in excess of £15 million. Goalscoring is something you can't coach -- it's a habit that some people have."

Earlier this week, Ramsey told Sky Sports: "There have been offers. With a player of Charlie's ability, there will always be speculation."

But he hinted that the forward could stay, adding: "We've had offers that we've rejected, and we've had offers that Charlie himself has not been happy to take on.

"At the moment, he's a QPR player and he's working hard in training. I'm having the idea that he will be here into the season."

Austin told the official QPR website that speculation about his future was "for other people to worry about."

"Until I'm told otherwise, I'm a QPR player and I'm preparing for the Championship next year," he said. "If I'm told otherwise, then so be it."
