Manchester United have completed the signing of Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern Munich.
Schweinsteiger, 30, who reportedly cost £14 million, has signed a three-year deal at Old Trafford after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.
The Germany captain is half of a double addition to the United midfield after the former Premier League champions also brought in Southampton's France international Morgan Schneiderlin.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Bayern Munich, it has been an incredible journey and I didn't take the decision to leave lightly," Schweinsteiger told the club website.
"Manchester United is the only club that I would have left Munich for. I feel ready for this new and exciting challenge in what I regard as the most competitive league in the world and I am looking forward to working with Louis van Gaal again.
"I will never forget my time at Bayern Munich and I would like to thank everyone at the club and the fans for the great memories."
United manager Louis van Gaal added: "Bastian is, of course, no stranger to me. I worked with him during my time at Bayern Munich and I am truly delighted he is joining Manchester United. His record speaks for itself; he has won every honour at club level and was a major part of the successful Germany World Cup-winning team last summer.
"Bastian is the ultimate professional and there is no doubting his talent and his ability to control games. He brings a wealth of experience and is an excellent addition to our squad."
Along with the May move for winger Memphis Depay and the transfer of Italy right-back Matteo Darmian, which was finalised on Saturday, United's summer spending is moving towards the £80 million mark.
The midfielder has signed in time to join United as they fly out to America for a preseason tour when they will play four matches against San Jose Earthquakes, Club America, Barcelona and PSG.
Schweinsteiger had posted a farewell message to Bayern fans in which he said: "The decision was very hard to make because you and FCB have and always will be an extremely important part of my life.
"Nevertheless, I would like to again gain experience at a new club. "My destination is Manchester United. I hope you understand my decision. No one can take away the incredible journey we had together."
Schweinsteiger has been reunited with Van Gaal, who coached him between 2009-11 at Bayern.
The World Cup winner had been a one-club man, scoring 67 goals in 500 games for Bayern and winning eight Bundesliga titles and the 2013 Champions League. But he had one year left on his contract at the Allianz Arena and told Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge at the weekend that he wanted to leave.
His arrival gives Van Gaal an alternative to Michael Carrick as the holding midfield after the United manager made a point of commenting on how his side's results were significantly worse during the vice-captain's injury-enforced absences last season.
