Man City midfielder Samir Nasri denies seeking Arsenal return

Samir Nasri has strongly rejected a report claiming he asked to return to Arsenal, insisting he wants to stay at Manchester City.

Nasri, 28, left Arsenal for City in 2011 but there has been speculation about a potential exit over recent months.

A report on Football Insider on Thursday claimed the French midfielder had spoken to Arsene Wenger about a potential return to the Emirates Stadium only to be told there was no space for him in the squad.

However, Nasri used his Twitter account on Saturday to reject the claim and to say that he is not seeking a move away from City.

City are expected to freshen up their midfield this summer, with sources telling ESPN FC on Friday that they were closing on an £8 million deal for Fabian Delph, while the Daily Telegraph reported on Saturday that Paul Pogba, Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling are top of Manuel Pellegrini's wishlist.
