Abou Diaby leaves Arsenal after contract expires

Arsenal have confirmed Abou Diaby has left the club after reaching the end of his contract.

Diaby, 29, made just one appearance for Arsenal last season as he struggled for fitness, during a career blighted by injuries.

The French midfielder joined the Gunners from Auxerre in 2006 and went on to make 180 first-team appearances, scoring 19 goals.

Arsenal have also announced Jack Jebb, Austin Lipman, Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill and Josh Vickers have parted company with the side.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is currently planning for the 2015-16 season and this week he completed his first summer signing with Petr Cech arriving from Chelsea.
