The agent of Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne has hinted at a transfer this summer, if his client continues not to feel appreciated by the Serie A club.
Insigne made just 20 appearances in Serie A last season, although a knee ligament rupture meant he missed almost half of the campaign.
He nevertheless made only 13 starts, entering as a sub on the other seven occasions and that is something his agent Antonio Ottaiano says cannot continue.
"His future is not certain," Ottaiano told Il Corriere dello Sport.
"We're still waiting to find out what the club's plans and ambitions are, and fundamentally whether the lad is still part of these plans. He feels he is getting little in the way of consideration."
The Italy international is contracted to the Azzurri until 2019, but he is not going to sit out the next four years of his contract if he does not feel wanted. In fact, the length of that contract is one of Ottaiano's primary concerns and he feels Napoli are taking advantage of the security it gives them.
"Lorenzo feels a bit penalised compared to some other players at his same level," Ottaiano said. "He feels he is receiving a different level of attention compared to other players who have arrived at the club and players who will arrive.
"What I am insisting on is finding out what Napoli's project is. Insigne wants to know his destiny in detail. It's almost impossible to find somebody to talk to about it. It's been months that we've been waiting to hear from the club about their plans, ambitions and aspirations.
"These are things we need to know for Lorenzo's future and the role Lorenzo has to play in this complex change at the club. Maybe he doesn't fit in any more, and any player needs to know these things."
Meanwhile, Swiss international Valon Behrami seems to be on the verge of leaving HSV and has been linked with his former club Napoli.
Bild reports that the HSV officials have agreed to let Behrami go, if a club is willing to pay a transfer fee of €5 million. That is one million less than HSV has payed to release Behrami from Napoli last summer. At Hamburg Behrami could never meet the expectations to be a team leader.
Behrami said: "Hamburg remains a negative experience for me. I am no Christiano Ronaldo but I thought I could change things at this club. But I failed."
Behrami had a rough time at Hamburg on and off the field. He could not prevent the club slipping into a relegation battle, which lasted until the overtime of second leg of the promotion-relegation playoff.
And he took his supposed role as aggressive leader of the team to the dressing room, when he got involved in a fight with teammate Johan Djourou after the defeat against Wolfsburg in April. After being sent off in the derby at Bremen, Behrami missed the rest of the season due to knee problems.
Behrami is linked with various Italian clubs with his former club Napoli leading the race to sign the holding midfielder.
"I left my heart at Napoli," he said, telling Italian radio station kiss kiss that he is waiting an approach from Napoli president. "I don't think I could reject his call."
HSV director of sport Peter Knabel told Bild: "I am sure Behrami will come to us, if he wants to leave."
