Lukas Podolski feels he still has Arsenal future after Inter Milan loan

Lukas Podolski is ready to return to Arsenal in the upcoming season, the Germany international has told a news conference, adding that he "will not vanish from the football scene".

Podolski, who turned 30 last week, has one year left on his contract at Arsenal and is set to return to the club following a difficult six-month loan at Inter Milan.

However, it is unclear whether he will still be in London when the 2015-66 season kicks off in August.

"There will be speculations about my future," Podolski told a news conference ahead of Germany's friendly against the United States on Wednesday.

Last week, the German was linked with a transfer to Bundesliga club Werder Bremen, but, speaking to reporters on Monday, he rejected those reports.

"It looks like I will return to London. But things can change in the upcoming weeks or even days. If need be, I will be at Arsenal next season," Podolski said. "It's a great club, and I think that I can help the team."

Looking back on a difficult post-World Cup season and his loan spell at Inter, Podolski acknowledged that "from a sporting perspective it was certainly not the best year."

"But I am still young, in spite of the big 30 now. I still very much feel like playing football. Let's see what happens. I will not vanish from the football world."
