Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas believes Alexandre Lacazette can reach the same level as Karim Benzema but thinks he can achieve that at the Ligue 1 club. (0:37)

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has told potential suitors for Alexandre Lacazette they will need to spend more than €50 million to snare the prolific striker this summer.

Lacazette, 23, has struck a league-leading 27 goals in Ligue 1 this season, breaking Lyon's club record and attracting the attention of a host of high-profile sides, including Liverpool, PSG and Bayern Munich.

Aulas, 66, had stated earlier this month Lacazette had opted to remain at the club where he has emerged from the youth academy to become a France international, and that the forward was not for sale regardless of the offer.

However, the OL boss changed his tune when speaking to Canal+, telling them that though he would try to keep Lacazette at the Stade de Gerland, his leading scorer, who was named Ligue 1 Player of the Year last Sunday, may leave for a fee in excess of €50 million.

"Ah, 50 won't be enough. No, No. I don't know, he doesn't have a price," replied Aulas when asked how much Lacazette was worth.

"You're never sure of anything in football, of course, but everything is going to be done for Alexandre to be with us. And I think it's also in his interest. We're going to do what is needed for him to be present next year."

Lacazette has said he will discuss his future at the club, where he signed a contract extension through to 2018 earlier this season, at the end of the current campaign.

Following a spectacular breakthrough season, Nabil Fekir had been tipped to join Lacazette as a potential summer departure from Lyon with Arsenal among a host of clubs linked to the midfielder, who has scored 13 league goals and provided nine assists.

However, Fekir, 21, appears set to stay and honour a further year of his contract, which runs through to 2019, and told RMC he and his Lyon teammates hope Lacazette will do the same.

"We want him to stay. We know he's a very, very good player," he added. "He's had a great season and he's been rewarded. It's up to him to see now.

"I'm not here to tell him to stay or anything like that. It's up to him to take the decision, but we'd all like him to stay at Lyon."

Should Lacazette leave Lyon it would be a serious blow to the seven-time Ligue 1 winners as they prepare to embark on next season's Champions League group stage.

Hubert Fournier's men have proven themselves a formidable proposition domestically this season, pushing Paris Saint-Germain in the title race and securing runners-up spot.

Lyon legend Juninho Pernambucano, who was a member of the squad that registered seven successive title wins in the first decade of the millenium, told RMC that if his former club keeps hold of their prized assets, they will be able to compete on Europe's biggest stage.

"This squad can finish second in the group and play in the last-16," he said. "The problem will be to play Ligue 1 and the Champions League. That could be a problem.

"They won't look ridiculous in the Champions League. It'll depend on the squad. They are young, but they have talent. They have played together for a long time. On the other hand, if they let Lacazette leave, no. If Lacazette and Fekir leave, they won't even finish third."
