Shanghai Shenhua's Hongkou Stadium catches fire

Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua's Hongkou Stadium caught fire on Tuesday.

The security bureau in Hongkou announced that there were no casualties and that the fire had been extinguished, while state news agency Xinhua reported that the stands and pitch had not been affected.

Shanghai city government said the cause of the blaze was being investigated, according to Reuters.

Gus Poyet's Shenhua, who are fourth in the Chinese Super League table after two games, are next scheduled to play at home against Changchun Yatai on April 16.

Shenhua, whose squad includes Carlos Tevez, Fredy Guarin and Obafemi Martins, were eliminated from the Asian Champions League in February.
