Rangers match halted after linesman struck by projectile

Livingston's Scottish Premiership match at home to Rangers on Sunday had to be temporarily halted after an assistant referee was struck by an object thrown from the crowd.

The official, who was standing in front of the away supporters, was treated for a cut to the back of his head.

He carried on for the remaining half an hour of the game, which Livingston won 1-0 to move above both Steven Gerrard's Rangers side and champions Celtic into third place in the table.

Rangers have won just one away game in all competitions this season -- a 1-0 victory at Croatian side Osijek in the second qualifying round of the Europa League.

They host Rapid Vienna in the group stage on Thursday looking to build on the point they gained at Villarreal on matchday one.
