Albion Rovers' new player/manager Darren Young leads his side for the first time in a league game when Annan visit Cliftonhill.
Young has a full squad to choose from after Scott Chaplain returned following his work commitments at the Commonwealth Games.
Young is looking forward to hearing that first whistle blow, as he explained: "The cup games have been great as we defeated Airdrie and then pushed Livingston all the way to a penalty shoot-out, however the real work begins now.
"We have prepared well and are ready to go against an Annan side that were strong last season and will be out to make amends after missing out on promotion.``
Annan will be without the injured Kenny MacKay (groin) and Scott Davidson (knee).
The Galabank men also have Martin McNiff out through suspension and they are also missing Iain Chisholm, who has been ill. However, Peter Watson is available after a ban.
Manager Jim Chapman said: "This will be a great test for our squad as Albion Rovers have invested in their squad heavily over the summer. After playing two full time sides in cup competitions this game will give us a clearer indication of how prepared we are for the season."
