Kris Boyd and Kenny Miller are in line to make their Rangers returns on Tuesday night when the Ibrox side host Hibernian in the Petrofac Training Cup.

The former Scotland strikers have re-signed with Ally McCoist's team this summer and could make their second Light Blues debuts alongside fellow new recruits Darren McGregor and Marius Zaliukas.

Bilel Mohsni will miss the game and also the season-opener after the Scottish Football Association upheld his red card against Derby and issued the defender with a two-match ban.

Frontman Jon Daly is definitely out after undergoing knee surgery.

Hibs boss Alan Stubbs has a clear idea of his starting XI for the match following the club's six-game pre-season programme.

New signings Farid El Alagui, Mark Oxley, David Gray and Scott Allan are all likely to start at Ibrox as Stubbs prepares for his first competitive fixture since replacing Terry Butcher.

Striker Paul Heffernan has recovered from a thigh injury but may not be fit enough to feature from the start.

Stubbs said: "I know my team now, I'm very clear. As long as nothing happens from now to Tuesday I know my team and we're going to work on it over the next few days, a few finishing touches."
