Milne missing for Cowdenbeath
Cowdenbeath will be without Lewis Milne against Brechin due to suspension.
However, manager Jimmy Nicholl hopes to complete the signing of striker Craig Sutherland before kick-off.
Dean Brett is struggling with a hamstring problem, though, but Nicholl is determined to see his side pick up where they let off last season.
Nicholl said: "Our final game of last season was a 3-0 win over Dunfermline that kept us in the league. That was a great day and whilst some of the playing squad will have changed, I want the positive feeling that day created to continue.
"Brechin can attack you with pace and we have to be wary of them."
Brechin boss Ray McKinnon has added defender Jamie McCormack and midfielder Callum Tapping to his squad on short-term deals ahead of their trip to Fife.
Another new recruit, centre-back Darren McCormack, is the Glebe Park side's only injury doubt with a hamstring problem.
McKinnon said: "Injuries ruined last season for us and it had looked like we would start this campaign with a full squad until Darren dropped out of training. He will be given every chance to play.
"I watched Cowdenbeath lose 4-1 to St Mirren in midweek. However, when they were at full strength in the first half they gave St Mirren plenty of problems."
