Rodgers runs show in Blue Toon win
Peterhead progressed to the second round of the Petrofac Training Cup with a comfortable 3-0 victory over nine-man Montrose at Links Park.
Andrew Rodgers was the star turn for the newly-promoted League One side, scoring an early opener and then laying on goals for Rory McAllister and James Stevenson.
Rodgers headed home Stevenson's cross in the fifth minute and provided the perfect assist for McAllister to score from inside the area after 17 minutes. The tie was over 10 minutes later as Rodgers returned the favour for Stevenson to net from close range.
Things went from bad to worse for Montrose with Graham Webster and then Gary Wood both shown straight red cards either side of half-time.
In between the dismissals, McAllister saw a shot strike a post.
