Greig Spence's electric start to the season continued as he followed up last weekend's debut hat-trick with the winner in Alloa's derby triumph over Stirling.
The Wasps striker struck after 27 minutes in a 1-0 win which was a typically tight early-season affair between two neighbours.
Spence had looked lively early on and had already had a couple of shots on goal when the Stirling defence let Kevin Cawley's pass creep through, with Alloa's in-form forward rounding goalkeeper Callum Reidford before slotting home.
Alloa continued to turn the screw with Stephen Simmons going close from a free-kick which just whistled past the post.
The hosts looked more likely to strike again in the second period as Iain Flannigan's effort was turned on to the woodwork.
Willie Robertson came close to an equaliser at the death for Stirling yet his effort went over the top as Alloa continued their 100 per cent start.
