Sao Paulo appoint Juan Carlos Osorio as manager

SAO PAULO -- Brazilian club Sao Paulo has confirmed that it has signed Colombian coach Juan Carlos Osorio for the next two seasons.

Osorio had been with Colombian club Atletico Nacional since 2012, where he won six titles.

The 53-year-old coach previously managed Colombia's Once Caldas and worked for the Chicago Fire and the New York Red Bulls in the Major League Soccer. He also coached Puebla in Mexico and was an assistant coach at Premier League side Manchester City for five seasons at the beginning of the last decade.

Sao Paulo had been without a coach since Muricy Ramalho left in April following a series of poor results.

The six-time national champion is fourth in the Brazilian league after three rounds.

An interim coach been in charge since Ramalho left.
