Robinho concerned as Santos fail to pay players' wages

Robinho has expressed his frustration at Santos' financial problems amid concerns about the club's future.

Reuters reports that several of Santos' players have decided to leave due to unpaid pages.

The Brazilian side's issues stem from a lack of a main shirt sponsor and also low attendances.

It remains to be seen if Santos can continue to pay the wages of Robinho, who is on loan from AC Milan at the club he left for Real Madrid in 2005.

He said: "Everyone has to look after their own rights. Even though I'm an idol here, my salary is the one that is most in arrears.

"This isn't normal here. Maybe it is normal at other clubs."

The Brazilian forward added: "We -- the players -- have to be patient. The answer is to work because sooner or later the money will arrive."

Midfielder Arouca and full-back Eugenio Mena left the club this week after going to court to terminate their contracts, while Leandro Damiao has left for Cruzeiro.

The club have, however, issued a statement outlining they have come up with the funds for two months' worth of back pay.
