Saint-Etienne fans banned from travelling to Marseille game

Saint-Etienne fans have been banned from travelling to Sunday's game at Marseille.

Les Verts announced the sanction on their official website after being notified by the Bouches du Rhone police department.

It follows crowd trouble at their home game against Lyon, which was suspended for 30 minutes and then concluded in an empty stadium after home fans rioted on the pitch following a provocative goal celebration from Nabil Fekir, who took off his shirt and held it up in front of the crowd after scoring Lyon's final goal in a 5-0 win.

ASSE's statement read: "Decisions like this do not help to ease relations between supporters associations, clubs and governing bodies who have a common objective to promote football."
