Russian club Rostov says doping tests clean after FIFA sting

Russian title contenders FC Rostov say all of their players were clean after a surprise doping test conducted last week by FIFA.

Rostov said in a statement on their website that they had received the results of tests taken after last week's 3-1 Russian league win over Dynamo Moscow.

The club say "all the doping tests turned out to be clean" and that its players did not use banned substances.

The testing followed reports in Russian media that Rostov had been trying to buy the banned substance meldonium.

Rostov have qualified for the Champions League next season and could still win their first Russian title on Saturday, though they trail CSKA Moscow by two points ahead of the final round of games.
