David Moyes wants to stay at Real Sociedad, rejected summer offers

David Moyes insists he wants to remain at Real Sociedad, amid speculation linking him with the Aston Villa job.

Moyes' Sociedad side have not had the start to the season they would have wanted with Sunday's 2-0 loss to Atletico Madrid leaving them 16th in La Liga and only goal difference keeping them out of the relegation zone.

Some La Real supporters have reportedly called for the Scot to be sacked, but he is determined to stick around at the club and turn their fortunes around, despite having had offers from elsewhere in the summer.

"During preseason I had contact with clubs, which is normal, because they know my statistics, but my intention is to stay here at La Real, I'm not thinking about anything else," Moyes is quoted as saying by AS.

"You saw the hard work and determination the players put in [against Atletico], how they fought. I'm very happy with that and I want to stay, there are no doubts in my mind."

Goals from Antoine Griezmann, against his former club, and Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco secured Atletico the victory, but Moyes felt his side were unlucky not to pick up a point from the game.

"The team lacked very little, they played very well against one of the best teams in the league," he said.

"We didn't deserve to lose today. Although it is true we could have had more shots on goal. But Atletico are well known for the quality of their defending and we saw that today."
