David Moyes praised by Real Sociedad sporting director Loren

Real Sociedad sporting director Loren has praised the work David Moyes has done since taking over at the Primera Division club in November.

Former Manchester United manager Moyes replaced Jagoba Arrasate, who was sacked last year after a dismal start left the club 19th in the table.

The 51-year-old has led Sociedad away from the relegation zone and into ninth place with 10 games of the season remaining.

"It was hard for us to replace Jagoba," Loren told Spanish sports newspaper Marca. "But the team needed to react, and it has certainly done so.

"I think the first thing that David did when he arrived was to try to give the team more solidness and consistency, and you can see that he has achieved that. The team is improving."

Moyes is under contract for another season, and Loren added: "We were fortunate that a man who initially appeared inaccessible to Real Sociedad ended up coming here. I believe he is giving a big contribution."

He said he believed Moyes could help attract English players to the club, who return to La Liga action at Malaga on Saturday.
