Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr. bitten by Atleti captain in two-goal outing for Madrid B

Real Madrid's Brazilian teenager Vinicius Jr. felt the darker side of his club's rivalry with Atletico Madrid when he was bitten by an opponent after scoring twice in a reserve-team derby match on Sunday.

Vinicius, 18, scored both Real's goals in the derby which finished 2-2 but clashed with Atletico Madrid B's captain Tachi, who tried to sink his teeth into the back of the Brazilian's head as the pair tussled for the ball.

Tachi escaped a red card and was only given a booking for the incident while Vinicius also picked up a yellow card for dissent.

Held without a goal in his debut for the reserve side last weekend, a 2-0 win against Las Palmas Atletico, he started and played the full 90 minutes on Sunday, scoring in the seventh and 28th minutes.

The 18-year-old has been training with the first team but playing for the reserve side -- an arrangement Madrid coach Julen Lopetegui, who was in the stands the day after Madrid's 4-1 victory over Leganes, said will continue unless he has a first-team opportunity.

Vinicius arrived on a €45 million transfer from Flamengo during the summer and was sent to the reserves, where he would assimilate to his new surroundings under coach Santiago Solari.

Barcelona forward Luis Suarez is infamous for biting opponents on three occasions while playing for Ajax, Liverpool and Uruguay, although he has not done it again since joining the the Catalan club in 2014.
