Isco says he's staying at Real Madrid after La Liga 'dream come true'

Spain international Isco told fans not to worry about him leaving after Real Madrid beat his former club Malaga 2-0 to clinch La Liga on Sunday.

The 25-year-old had been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, but now says he has no plans to leave the capital.

"Do not worry the fans of Real Madrid. I will stay," Isco told reporters.

"Yes, it was complicated at first, but I have remained strong psychologically and I have received the support of all."

Isco has forced his way back into the starting lineup and played his part as Real secured the victory to finish three points ahead of arch rivals Barcelona for their first league title since 2012.

"It's been some time coming, but it's a dream come true to have won the title here, with my family and friends in my city," Isco said.

"I'll be forever grateful for the affection they've shown me. It's a very sweet moment and you have to enjoy it. We've shown that we were capable of using the whole squad."

Meanwhile, captain Sergio Ramos described La Liga as "the best league in the world" as Real Madrid clinched it for a record 33rd time.

The 31-year-old defender praised the fighting spirit of his teammates, and coach Zinedine Zidane for pushing the squad all the way.

"We deserve a lot of credit for [the] title ... it's the best league in the world," Ramos said. "I've been here a long time and it's a very tough league to win. Not just Barcelona but Sevilla and Atletico Madrid have pushed us right to the end.

"There are always doubts during the season but we've managed to keep working and fighting hard and we've done really well. We're going to enjoy this with our fans and then we'll prepare for the Champions League final."

Real will face Juventus at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on June 3 in a repeat of the 1998 final, won by Real.

Defending champions Real will be looking to claim European club football's biggest prize for the third time in four seasons.
