Nacho: There is no A or B team at Real Madrid despite Deportivo hammering

Spain defender Nacho has brushed off suggestions that a Real Madrid "B" team defeated Deportivo La Coruna on Wednesday.

Real cruised to a 6-2 win at Deportivo to go level on 78 points with Barcelona at the top of La Liga standings.

Deportivo coach Pepe Mel said after Wednesday's game that it was tougher to beat Madrid's "B" team in reference to the nine changes that Zidane made to the lineup which suffered a 3-2 home defeat to Barcelona on Sunday.

However, Nacho, who made his 21st league start for Real at Depor, told Onda Cero radio: "There is no A or B team here, we are all important and that is thanks to the coach."

Zidane left regular starters Cristiano Ronaldo and Toni Kroos in Madrid.

"Zidane is doing great things, he has us all fired up and we have had a great season," Nacho told his club's official website. "We're all giving it our best and the team winning is what we're focused on, so that we can fight for these titles and achieve our goals.

"We rely on ourselves in LaLiga and we are in the semifinals of the Champions League. We all feel important and want to win titles for this badge."

Despite their loss to Barcelona, Real, who host Valencia on Saturday, control their own destiny as they have a game in hand.

"A win against Deportivo was vital after what happened the other day," Nacho said. "The late loss to Barcelona could have shaken our confidence but the team got back to it and played 90 spectacular minutes.

"It was important to react and I'm very proud of the team. We now have to think about Saturday. We have five finals left and we have to win them all."
