Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez not worried over Madrid civil lawsuit

Real Madrid legend Raul Gonzalez said he is not concerned about reports in Spain claiming that a company he owns has had €9.3 million in assets frozen by a Madrid court.

El Mundo have reported that Judge Carmen Perez of a civil court in Madrid has embargoed €9.3 million at a company owned by Raul to cover debts owed to investors in a green energy project which they said did not turn a profit.

The report says that the judgement is being appealed by Raul's lawyers. It is a civil case being taken by investors, with no suggestion of any fraud or criminal charges being considered.

Speaking on El Larguero radio show, La Liga's country manager for the United States said he was confident his legal advisors would resolve the situation without any problem.

"I am very relaxed about that," Raul said. "My lawyers are looking after it."

Previous reports said that Raul set up the company called Europa Scar Sport early in his career as a player to help manage his affairs, but it fell into financial difficulty following an investment in renewable energy which did not provide the expected return.
