Real Madrid unlucky with injuries but have 'incredible squad' - Casemiro

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro has bemoaned the club's "bad luck with injuries" this season.

Club captain Sergio Ramos this week joined Casemiro on a list of sidelined players that also includes Marcelo and Luka Modric.

Ramos is set to miss at least a month after suffering a knee ligament problem while on international duty with Spain this week.

And speaking on radio show El Transistor, Casemiro said: "We've had bad luck -- Marcelo, Modric, Sergio Ramos have also been injured.

"I spoke a little bit to Sergio. He has a sprained knee, he is injured. No player is happy with that -- it makes you upset.

"But Sergio Ramos is a player with a lot of character, and he says he wants to be back as soon as possible."

Casemiro broke a bone in his leg in a challenge with Espanyol's Pape Diop on Sept. 18 and is expected to be out for at least another month.

"The break hurts a lot, as there is no treatment," he said. "The bone has to heal itself.

"I would return tomorrow if I could but it is a complex injury. It was a difficult challenge, although accidental. We must wait and be patient."

Madrid have drawn their last four games since Casemiro's injury, but the 24-year-old said he did not believe his absence had changed the way they played.

"We have an incredible squad, above all in the centre of the pitch," he added. "There are so many players with so much quality.

"People say the others cannot do what Casemiro does, but they have so much quality.

"Whoever plays does well for Madrid. The characteristics of the players might be different, but the style of play is the same. There is no problem."
