Toni Kroos focused on Euros 2016 after Real Madrid UCL win

Toni Kroos has eyed the European Championship trophy as he wants to add more silverware to his personal trophy cabinet.

On Saturday, the Germany international became the first German ever to win the Champions League with two different clubs after Real Madrid earned Europe's biggest club trophy for a record 11th time by defeating Atletico Madrid 5-3 on penalties.

Three years ago, Kroos missed the last four matches of Bayern Munich's successful Champions League campaign with an injury, and followed the 2-1 victory in the Wembley final against Borussia Dortmund on the sidelines.

On Saturday, the Germany international was a surprise substitution midway through the second half, as Zinedine Zidane replaced him with Isco after 72 minutes.

Although, Atletico took to the game to penalties with Yannick Carrasco's 79th-minute strike, Real came out on top and were able to lift their second Champions League trophy in three years.

The Blancos' triumph at San Siro meant that Kroos became the first-ever German to lift the Champions League trophy with two different clubs.

"It's a more intense feeling than 2013 because I played in the final," Kroos told Bild after the match. "The 2016 title counts more for me personally."

Following a short break after the celebrations in Madrid, Kroos will join the national team as they prepare for the tournament in France.

"The Bundestrainer [Joachim Low] knows what he can expect from me. And he also knows what he has in me," Kroos said.

And the 2014 World Cup winner now wants to target the continental crown.

He said: "Independent of the Champions League victory my goal remains the same: I want to win the next big title."
